Fornham St Martin is one of three Fornham parishes clustered north of Bury St Edmunds — the others being Fornham All Saints and Fornham St Genevieve. The River Lark meanders through the valley between them, creating attractive wetland and meadow habitats that make the area particularly popular with nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. The village church of St Martin dates to the twelfth century and is a striking local landmark. The proximity to Bury St Edmunds — just minutes away via the A1101 — gives residents easy access to the town’s excellent shops, restaurants, schools and rail connections to Cambridge and London Liverpool Street.
